The Milwaukee Brewers was born as an expansion team in 1969 in Seattle in Washington. It was originally called The Seattle Pilots. This Club only managed to play one season before it went into bankruptcy. In court, the team was acquired by Bud Selig. He later moved this team to Milwaukee. The team became part of the American League from 1969 to 1997 after which they shifted to The National League Central Division. Milwaukee was a National League city in the past when the team was named the Milwaukee Braves from 1953-1965.

The Milwaukee Brewers won The American League East Division in 1981. They won in the second half of the strike shortened season. In the playoffs they has lost the divisional series3 games to 2 to The New York Yankees. 1982 was again an important year for them as they won both The American League Pennant and The American League East Division. This however has been their only appearance in The World Series as The Brewers.

In 1998, the Milwaukee Brewers changed leagues. In 2008, for the first time in a span of 26 years ever since they appeared in The World Series, The Milwaukee Brewers went on to advance to a post season play. They won the National League Wild Card. The team was eliminated by Philadelphia Phillies in National League Division. They were the champions of the world series.
