1) Eden Hazard, Chelsea £11.5

Chelsea’s Belgian winger was last years top scorer in the Fantasy Premier League, helping Chelsea to the league title. He’s still a young man who’s not even reached his full potential yet. With 14 goals and 10 assists last season, he’s a consistent performer and an easy choice for your Captain each week. He’s had a full break for the European summer, so should be back as fresh as ever for the new season. His ownership sits at 54% of teams thus far, so you don’t want to be the one who misses out on Hazard if he start the year at his attacking best.

2) Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal £11.0

Alexis Sanchez took the Premier League by storm last year, carving up the best defenses in the league after his transfer from Barcelona last summer. He’s Arsenal’s most attacking player, and they’ll be looking to push for the title in 2015/16. Usually players take a season or so to get used to the Premier League, but really hit the ground running and scored 16 goals and setup 8 more. After helping Chile win the Copa America in the summer, he’ll be eased back into action for the first few weeks of the season. But you can still expect Sanchez to be a dynamite impact player off the bench for the first few weeks.

3) Branislav Ivanovic, Chelsea £7.0m

The right fullback of the Premier League champions Chelsea was the highest scoring defender in the Fantasy Premier League last season. He was also the 6th highest scorer of all players in any position, which makes him great value for money at nearly 5 million cheaper than some of the forward options. Chelsea’s defense was like a wall last season, picking up a league best 17 clean sheets which made up a portion of Ivanovic’s points. But he also likes to get forward down the right flank and offer an overlapping option on attack. That attacking play earned him 4 goals and 6 assists last season, all vital points from the back for a Fantasy Premier League team. You can expect much the same from Chelsea’s defense and Ivanovic in 2015/16.

4) Wayne Rooney, Manchester United £10.5m

England’s lethal forward Wayne Rooney had a relatively lean year points wise for Manchester United last season. That was mainly due to been deployed in midfield due to Man Utd’s striking options. But with Radamel Falcao  and Robin van Persie both leaving Manchester United this summer, Rooney will be the first name on the teamsheet this year, playing in his preferred center forward role. Despite playing much of the season out of position, he still managed to score 12 goals and assist a further 5. Rooney looks like a safe option for points and good value for money.

5) David Silva, Manchester City £10.0m

Manchester City’s creative flair usually comes in the form of the Spanish pass master David Silva. Silva recorded at least 12 assists for the past four Premier League seasons, so he’s a consistent goal making machine. Last season he picked up his own goal scored talents with 12 league goals to his name. With Manchester City signing pacey winger come forward Raheem Sterling from Liverpool, City fans will be hoping he forms an instant understanding with Silva which could bast City back into the title race for 2015/16. Silva is a safe option for points for any Fantasy Premier League Team.
