The Range Rover Evoque: Review

The Range Rover Evoque: Review

The stylish Range Rover Evoque is stunning to look at and is very capable both on and off road. .

There are two compact body styles for the new Evoque; a three door and a five door. Land Rover is offering three specs and three engine types and the pricing structure makes this vehicle the ideal entry point for those wishing to buy an SUV. The Evoque won the Car Buyer Best Luxury 4X4 2012 award. It is cheap to run and environmentally friendly.

In fact, it is the most economical car in the Land Rover stable. The sleek design is both innovative and comfortable. In addition, there are 12 body colours, three roof colours and seven wheel designs. It appears that Land Rover has thought of every option. The Evoque handles as well as any hatchback but is still a great car for off road. There are two and four wheel drive options and both have the Terrain Response system which changes the suspension to suit the conditions.

The preferred engine option is the 2.2 litre diesel, which has excellent overtaking capability and acceleration. Both gearboxes are smooth and simple to use and the automatic transmission is going to be replaced with a ground breaking nine speed box which will further reduce fuel consumption as well as giving a better performance.

If you need a lot of space, then the five door Evoque is the one to choose. It will easily accommodate five adults without the need to compromise head and leg room. There is a large boot which is made larger when the seats are folded flat. The driving position gives good visibility on the road. When off road, the Evoque has the feature of hill descent control and a terrain response system that has a variety of settings for different surfaces.

Running costs are never cheap for any SUV but the Evoque can manage to achieve a miles per gallon figure in the low 50s and still only emit 149g/km of CO2. The three spec levels are the Pure, the Prestige and the Dynamic. The Pure has leather seating and a glossy black finish on the inside. The Dynamic spec is aimed at people who prefer as sporty finish and has body coloured bumpers as well as 20 inch alloys. This luxury car is the best that land Rover has in the SUV line.

Land Rover have raised the bar for SUV’s with this new model and to complement the vehicle we have produced an equally stunning set of car mats.
